Because certain people are just less educated than we are, Toph, and that makes them make poor decisions.

[Or so she's been told. And who is she to argue, right? She scuttles over and moves to give Toph a sisterly little hug.]

And I couldn't stand it if my little sister got caught up in those bad decisions~!

[ Ehh. No fair pulling the sisterly hug card. Toph's a bit of a sucker for random shows of tactile affection - she couldn't help it. It's not like she could see anything else. So even if she's still kind of miffed, she doesn't shy away. ]

... Well, have you ever spoken to them yourself? They're really not that bad, you know. They're kinda cool.

Of course, I haven't talked to them, Toph! You know I can't handle the, um, rougher parts of town. And I can be cool, too, you know! Maybe you should hang out with your big sister more~!

[ Asami mentioned that, too. That trying to hang out with her sister more would help her get along better with her. So Toph sighs. It was worth a shot. ]

Yeah, when? When you're off shopping for dresses and stuff? [ Homecoming was coming up, after all. ]

[The fact that Toph seems to be okay with this idea has Pilouette positively thrilled. She lets out an excited little squeal.]

Exactly~! Besides, you're going to the dance too, aren't you? If you want, I can help you pick out a homecoming dress~...! Oh, I bet we would have so SO much fun!

[seismicity]

[Hastily:] I'm not going to the dance! Why would I, it sounds really bor...ing... [No Toph that isn't going to win you any favors...] And no one asked me or anything so... [No that isn't going to win you any favors either...!

She changes the subject.]

But I guess I could go shopping with you anyway or something...

Oh, it doesn't matter if no one asked you [yes it does] you should still go! I'm sure you would have lots of fun!

[Pilouette lets out another squeal, one that's...significantly louder.]

Oooh, I'm so excited! We're going to have a great time! We really don't spend enough time together, you know! We could go out to eat afterwards, too, if you wanted! As much as I love Daddy, I just don't understand his taste in food...

[Seriously, it's like every dish has bamboo in it. EVERY. DISH.]

[ Haaa... Well, at least that's one thing they can agree on. ]

If you're buying, I'd totally go. Just make sure it's a place that doesn't have any bamboo in it, okay? [ She makes a face. Ick. Major yuck. ]

Ohhh, of course~! I'll get you whatever you want!

[She seems to take after their father in that respect...partially because she's using their father's money.]

You just let me know when you feel like going and I'll be ready right away! ...But right now you should probably get cleaned up.

[Meanwhile Toph cringes a bit at all the attention her sister's lavishing on her so readily. Augh. She just wants a normal day!]

We can go tomorrow or something. That's okay, right?

[No comment on getting clean! She'll get to that.... eventually.]

It's more than okay~! I'll make sure to clear my schedule so that we can spend alllll day together~!

[Not that her schedule ever consists of anything important, but she'll clear it anyway.]
